Rear Wiper Arm Trim/Sprayer Passthrough for 1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee (XJ)

$20.00

This is a replacement for the wiper arm trim/sprayer passthrough on the rear lift gate for the 1984-1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ.  It has a brass nipple on the outside rather than a plastic one to prevent snapping off like the original.

The lift gate plastic mounting clips will likely break upon removal.  CLICK HERE for a repair kit for these mounting clips.

It is recommended to reuse the original gasket but if you need a gasket, I can make a simple flat one for you.  Send me a message to inquire about a gasket if you need it.

INSTALLATION:

1.  Remove the 4 screws from the top of the lift gate plastic.  Carefully remove the plastic panel from the lift gate, it’s very likely the clips will be extremely brittle and break off.  See the link above for a repair kit for these.

2.  Pull the hose off the back side of the wiper arm trim piece (see photos for reference).

3.  Pull the wiper arm away from the window and insert a small Allen wrench or screwdriver through the holes (see photos for reference).

4.  Push the wiper arm back towards the window and pull and wiggle it off the wiper arm shaft.  This may take some penetrating oil and elbow grease but it should pop-off fairly easy.

5.  Remove the sprayer hose and the nut holding the trim piece in place.

6.  Pull and wiggle the original trim piece off the gate.  It may take a little prying, just be careful of the paint.

7.  Place the gasket back onto the wiper motor shaft and slide the new trim piece into place.  Reattach the nut, just get it snug, not super tight.

8.  Push the hose back into place on the backside of the wiper arm trim.  It should slide on pretty easy, be careful not to put a lateral force on the trim piece when installing the hose or it could break.  Check for leaks at this point.

9.  If everything is good, reinstall the rest of the removed parts.

***DISCLAIMER***

– These are printed in black PETG plastic.  This plastic has natural UV resistance so the color won’t fade over time and won’t get brittle.  This plastic can start to get soft at temperatures of 190*F.  Even in extreme environments this shouldn’t be an issue.  PETG parts have been used on vehicles for long periods of time without Ill effects.

– This is a 3D printed part, this means not all parts will appear or fit exactly the same.  I do not accept returns due to it being made to order, however If you have an issue with your part, please contact me and we can work out the issue together.

– If you break it due to not following instructions, over-tightening screws, or through use, you can fix it with some super glue or you can message me to purchase a replacement part.
