This is a set of replacement gaskets for the metal door handles found on Jeep Cherokee and Comanche vehicles. The kit comes with a pair of gaskets, enough to do 2 doors. If you have a 4 door XJ, you will need to order a qty of 2 kits to do all 4 doors. MJs only need a qty of 1 kit to do both doors. They will come in a plain envelope through the mail without tracking info to keep pricing low.
These work for both the chrome and black metal handles. They could be used on the plastic handles up to 1996 if you really wanted but they are unnecessary for the plastic ones and did not come with them originally. These may fit other vehicles as well if they used the same metal door handles.
The gaskets are made with a flexible specialized TPU that has additional UV additives to make it last much longer in direct sunlight. These should last many years before any sun fading or degrading in any way.
INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the door panel screws found in the armrest and door handle.
2. Pop all of the tree clips loose around the door so the panel comes loose, you can disconnect wires and lock/latch rods or leave them attached and door panel hanging.
3. Peel the plastic film back to locate the door handle nut inside the door and remove the door plug on the door for the other handle nut.
4. Remove the nuts and the door handle will come loose from the door. Disconnect the latch rod from the handle.
5. Peel the old gaskets off the door/handle, replace with the new gaskets and reassemble in reverse order.
